Anyone who hates his neighbor commits sin. But blessed is the person who is kind to those in need. Proverbs 14:21

We are so blessed in this country – beyond what other countries can even dream. I believe we were blessed because of the foundation of this country in Jesus Christ. I believe our forefathers were God fearing men and women who cared about pleasing God. They reached out to one another with love, as we should today.

As I travel around from one state to another, I feel so blessed by all that others give me – a place to sleep and lots of food, some give gifts – and I am so thankful to my Lord for this and to the people who show their love and care – God bless you all.

I believe that God is pleased when we are generous. I believe He wants us to take care of the poor, orphans and widows because He tells us in the Bible to do so. I heard a young girl in a school give an oration about helping the poor. She said that we should help the poor because the Bible teaches us to. She said that Jesus loved the poor and so we should too. She said that we have been blessed so that we should share with others. I was touched by this young 3rd grade girl .

The woman in this picture (Mary) has little and yet she has much. She has the love of Jesus in her life and eternal life because she believes that Jesus died for her sins and rose again. She came to know Jesus as her Savior and Lord five years ago. She does not speak any English but comes to the Widow’s Bible Study every Tuesday night. Last year she was very sick and had to have an operation. She had no money. She prayed and believed that God would provide (as He did). Her husband died long ago from heart problems. Many of her children have died and left orphans with her because of the terrible AIDS virus that destroyed their immune systems. She has her youngest son at home to help the sponsored kids in the ministry. She says that Jesus has changed her life so much that she must tell others about Him. Many of her friends have been coming to the Bible Study as well, and to church, and they too have come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. This is what reaching out to the poor & needy can do.

Mary is just one example of how lives are changed when we reach out to help the poor and needy, the orphans and the widows.

With Christmas coming, my heart goes out to these people who have nothing. I look around in America and I see so much. It is my prayer that again this year you as sponsors of this ministry will share something with the poorest of the poor.

I have really enjoyed the chance to see so many of you that make this ministry possible with that love. You are a special part of this ministry and the lives of these children and people in Uganda, the staff and all who are touched through God’s love. I pray that God will return to you a hundred fold of whatever you give to help the poor this year and every year. May He bless you more than you can imagine, now and in Heaven. Thank you.

God bless you, Katherine

Katherine will be happy to deliver any letters or Christmas cards that are received at our home office by the end of November to the sponsored children. Please note that at any other time of the year letters to sponsored children should be mailed directly to the field address in care of Hines Ugandan Ministries. Please do not send any money directly to your child. Thank you.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas – everywhere I go! You know the song. It is the time of year when everyone turns their hearts to giving gifts of love. Gifts as our Father in heaven gave us the gift of His son, Jesus Christ, the greatest gift of all. I am so thankful for that gift and the change it has made in my life and the lives of others.

I am also thankful that the Lord is able to use me to make a difference in the lives of children and people in Uganda. I give thanks every day for all those who give to this

Your $25 can provide an outfit, a gift and a special meal for a child this Christmas. Many of our sponsors send this specifically for their sponsored child and send a card for the child as well. All cards must be to the home office by the end of November for me to take back when I return. I am sorry that my space is limited and I will not be able to take personal gifts from sponsors back to the children. We also need further gifts to help with those children whose sponsors are unable to provide additional funds this year. Reach out and share your love and the love of Christ with someone in need. Please God with your love.

I ask that you will also prayerfully consider us in your yearend giving, either for general funds or as a gift toward our orphanage project that will be matched up to $10,000. We have already received generous gifts for the first $2,500 to be matched and would love to complete this campaign by the end of the year. Thank you.
